The causes may be related to insufficient production or excessive evaporation of tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How it manifests itself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Symptoms include dryness, burning, itching, redness, reflex tearing and intermittent blurred vision. They often worsen in dry environments or with prolonged use of screens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why it occurs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It can result from environmental or hormonal factors, the use of contact lenses, or certain medications. Inflammation of the Meibomian glands also plays a significant role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The role of the tear film<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The tear film nourishes, lubricates and protects the surface of the eye.
