Vitreoial Gocce

Vitreoial® EYE DROPS is a medical device for ophthalmic use consisting of a sterile, preservative-free, low-viscosity solution composed of substances naturally present in the ocular tissues and tear film.
Vitreoial® EYE DROPS have a protective, moisturising and lubricating action, promoting the re-epithelialisation process of the entire ocular surface (cornea and conjunctiva) thanks to the presence of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid.
The combined use of sodium hyaluronate in two different molecular weights results in a low viscosity, prolonged lubricating action on the eyes and a reduction in eye irritation.
Vitreoial® EYE DROPS increase the volume and aid the functionality of the tear film, promoting a balanced ocular microenvironment.
The product must be used according to the instructions in this leaflet to avoid problems arising from improper use.

DRY EYE
Vitreoial® EYE DROPS are indicated for the relief of moderate dry eye symptoms caused by both extrinsic and intrinsic factors, such as:

• Unfavourable environmental and climatic conditions such as the use of air conditioning (in the car, office, home), strong wind, air pollution and very hot weather.
• Chronic local therapy with eye drops containing preservatives.
• Incorrect use of contact lenses of any type, worn for many hours during the day.
• Dry eyes due to allergies, conjunctivitis, vitamin A deficiency.
• Anatomical alteration of the eyelid (incongruity between the eyelid and eyeball, alterations in eyelid opening, alterations in blinking).
• Eye diseases caused by alterations in the lipid component, such as blepharitis.
• Insufficient production of the lipid layer of the tear film due to Meibomian gland dysfunction.
• Inefficient blinking, for example due to prolonged use of a computer or prolonged driving.
• Menopause or post-menopause.

SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS
Vitreoial® EYE DROPS are also recommended following surgery, particularly refractive surgery such as photorefractive keratectomy (PRK or excimer laser), as they aid the physiological process of ocular repair and re-epithelialisation (during which the collagen synthesis essential for closing the lesion takes place) because

• It contributes to an adequate degree of lubrication, preventing rubbing of the eyelid during blinking, which would cause further irritation of the ocular epithelium and pain.
• It counteracts dry eye syndrome (resulting from the surgery itself or from commonly prescribed drug therapy) thanks to the moisturising and hydrating action of hyaluronic acid.
• It has a marked antioxidant action (thanks to the triterpenes and flavonoids contained in Centella asiatica extract, as well as Vitamin E) by capturing free radicals, thus protecting damaged tissues.
• It rebalances the ocular microenvironment compromised by surgery, replenishing the tear film with substances physiologically present in it.

CONTACT LENSES
Vitreoial® EYE DROPS are suitable for use with both soft and hard contact lenses. Specifically:

• One drop of the product placed on the inside of the lenses before application to the eye, or directly on the ocular surface, protects the corneal surface from rubbing and facilitates the application and positioning of both soft and hard lenses.
• After applying the contact lenses, instil one or two drops of the product and blink a few times to make them more comfortable to wear, counteracting the feeling of dryness. This also promotes moistening and hydration of the conjunctiva, minimising damage caused by friction during blinking and, in the event of abrasions to the conjunctival tissue, promoting faster healing.
• When removing contact lenses, a few drops of the product relieve the symptoms of eye fatigue caused by prolonged use; they also facilitate the repair of epithelial exfoliation that can occur as a result of wearing contact lenses.
• Vitreoial® EYE DROPS are suitable for frequent and prolonged use. They can be used during the day or alternatively before bedtime (night-time use).
